I love trying Maybelline products but the range is very limited where I live. So when I find a product by them that is new and available I snatch up the chance to try it. This is the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear concealer in 05 Ivory.
I didn’t know anything going into this. I just picked it up in store when I found it on a deal to see if I might like it. I have liked other Maybelline concealers in the past: I went through several tubes of the Fit Me concealer back in the day and the Age Rewind is a classic for a reason. Will this be as good?
Review: Maybelline Superstay Active Wear concealer 05 Ivory
This product will have a different retail price depending on where you live. Here in the Netherlands Maybelline is a bit of a higher price point than most places and this retails for €13.99 at full price. I only ever buy Maybelline if it is on offer or abroad for that reason. So definitely wait around for a deal if you can.
What does this concealer have to offer?
The Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear concealer is a great everyday concealer. It has a longlasting formula and a lightweight formula. It should give full coverage while having a matte finish. What is especially nice about this one is the applicator. The doe foot has a pointed edge making it easy to get into the under eye area and any other part of the face that requires more precision.
What does this concealer swatch like?
With just one swipe you get really good coverage. Despite this being described as matte, I feel it has a bit of glow. The lightweight formula is what makes this concealer: it is very easy to blend, it doesn’t pull into fine lines and it stays looking natural all day. The shade is good for me too. 05 Ivory is the lightest shade in the range and with only 6 shades to choose from there aren’t that many to find one that matches you.
What does this look like on the skin?
Here you can see the full effect of the concealer. This day I didn’t have too much darkness to cover up but you can still see what this concealer does. It has a matte texture which is usually not my favorite but you can see it doesn’t accentuate dryness, or pull into fine lines. That’s what I love about this one. It blends in so seamless and wears all day without problems and without looking cakey. That’s a good concealer in my book.
Should you buy the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear concealer?
I think Maybelline has created another killer of a concealer. It’s something they do well and this product shows they still got it. I wish it came in more shades so more people could try this as only 6 shades really doesn’t cut it anymore in 2024 in terms of shade range. But if you want a good drugstore concealer that gets the job done than this was a pleasant surprise to me that I think you might like too.
