Did you know Kruidvat has a skin tint too? I have now tried and reviewed several Kruidvat items and so far not too many have stood out to me. Can the Kruidvat Skin Tint make a difference? Let’s find out.
My favorite product I have tried so far is the highlighter. The foundation? Too matte. The concealer? Wrong shade. And when I got this skin tint in I was worried. Because when you get this out of the tube it reminds me of Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. But when I tried it, it actually kind of surprised me in a good way. Let me tell you all about it.
Review: Kruidvat Perfect Smooth 4-in-1 Skin Tint 010 Fair
For Kruidvat this is a more expensive product. It retails for €6.99 which is one of the more expensive products I have tried by the brand. It is available in just 4 shades so this can be a challenging product to find your shade match in. I was curious to see how it would go as I love a good skin tint.
What does this product have to offer?
As you can see in this swatch this looks like a thick mousse like texture. Not what we usually see with a skin tint. However, when we dig deeper into what this is supposed to do we will find out why. This is promoted as a cream. It is meant to give light coverage and a matte finish but also help fill in fine lines and minimize the visibility of pores.
The claim is that this ‘adjusts’ to your skin tone and it is recommended to apply this with fingers. It has a blurring effect and should be longwearing. The product is a bit difficult to squeeze out of the tube due to the thick formula and a little goes a long way.
How does this apply to the face?
To my surprise this worked a lot better than I had expected. As someone with dry skin, I usually don’t love a matte finish in my base products. This is indeed best applied with fingers. The warmth of your fingers will result in a thinner, easier to blend texture that melts into the skin. It can bet a bit smeary and getting even coverage can be difficult but the day I wore this it wore all day and didn’t look dry and cakey at all which is what I had expected with this formula.
What is the shade match like?
With only four shades available, I went with the lightest one available. 010 Fair is a pretty good match for me. It is a bit too yellow and of course the shade adjusting doesn’t work. That is always a claim that I don’t understand brands even dare to make anymore. The coverage is a bit patchy in places and this doesn’t build up well but if you don’t want too much from this it can be a nice pick for sure.
Should you buy the Kruidvat 4-in-1 Perfect Smooth Skin Tint?
The Kruidvat Skin Tint is one that I didn’t think would work but I ended up liking it much more than I had thought. Is this perfect? Not in a million years. It can be patchy and difficult to build up and with only 4 shades available not many people can use this.
However, the good things here is that the matte finish doesn’t accentuate any dryness and the formula lasts well on the skin. Despite this coming out as a thick blob, it blends in easily and it feels lightweight on the skin.
