In my search for my favorite products by The Inkey List I am continuing with the Peptide Moisturizer. This now comes in a tube but my packaging still has a pump. So just know that you can no longer buy this product as it is listed here.

The more I try products by The Inkey List the more I realize that many of the products aren’t quite right for me. While this product may work for some people I find The Inkey List to be a little too simple for my liking. This is one of the better ones but I have already decided that I will not be repurchasing this when it is used up.
Skincare review: The Inkey List Peptide Moisturizer
At €16.50 this moisturizer is in the same price range as some of my favorites by French skincare brands like La Roche Posay and Embryolisse. So I know I can find good moisturizers at this price point that I love and work well for me. While this is nice enough the combination of the packaging and the formula makes me not love this as much.
What does this moisturizer have to offer?

I was excited to find a moisturizer by The Inkey List that seemed right for my skin. This is recommended for dry skin and can be used both during the daytime or the nighttime. The recommended amount is a pea sized amount. This should reduce the appearance of fine lines and balance your skin. It should also hydrate the skin.
Here is the ingredient list:
Aqua (Water/Eau), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethylhexyl-glycerin, Sodium Gluconate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Phenethyl Alcohol, Acetyl Hexapeptide-37, Maltodextrin, Pentapeptide-48.
As you can see here most of this moisturizer consists of water and glycerins. There is some shea butter too, but the actual peptides that this is named for are all the way at the bottom of the list.
What does this moisturizer do for my skin?

Now I am not gonna claim this doesn’t do anything for me. It’s fine. I have used it both in my day time and night time skincare routines and it is effective in both routines. I just don’t love this packaging. I haven’t tried many skincare products and it seemed like fun, but in the end I just find it messy and unhygienic.
I also need a lot more than a pea sized amount to make this work. I use 2 – 3 pumps to cover my face & neck. I also need a serum and a face oil with this as just this moisturizer by itself isn’t hydrating enough to get the full effect. Most of the moisturizers I love I can use by itself without needing a 10 step skincare routine to reap the benefits.
Should you buy The Inkey List Peptide Moisturizer?
I think this can be nice for people who need very little from their skincare. If you are in your late teens or early 20s and you want an effective moisturizer that gets the job done and introduce you to peptides this is a nice one. But if like me your skin needs a little bit more and you are used to adding peptides by applying a serum this may be a little too ineffective for it to do much.
