One of the reasons why I am trying out some REM Beauty products is because I find the line intrigueing. It’s not super expensive for a Sephora brand and they seem to do a few unique formulas. I loved the Metallic Gel eyeshadow. So let’s see how much I like the Sweetener concealer in this review.
One reason why I love this is the fact it comes in a large shade range. It has 60 shades from super light to super deep. FYI I am light 5 N in this. There are a full 15 different shades lighter than this. It comes in undertones consistently from cool to neutral. Light 5 N is described as a neutral with cool undertones.

The best part about this concealer? It’s only €20. That may sound like a large amount of money but you only need a little bit of this. Texture wise it reminds me a lot of the NARS Soft Matte concealer: it’s matte, it has high coverage but it is also rich and creamy enough for the undereye area.
What does this concealer have to offer?
This concealer is described as a multi-tasking concealer with skincare properties. It should have a lightweight, moisturizing formula that concealer, corrects, highlights, conctours and brightens depending on the shade you get. It can be build up to create more coverage and results in a soft matte finish.
What does this look like in a swatch?
The only reason why I bought this is because the make up artist steered me towards this. She used a few shades all over my face. That’s right this can be sheered out and look great as foundation if you’re in a pinch. Buy a correcting shade and you can use it for that and you can find other shades as well for any contouring, brightening and any other purpose you can use a base product for.
Texture wise I would describe it as a thick potted eye cream with coverage. It blends in easily but I do prefer using fingers to press it into the skin for the best results. It can look a bit dry if you don’t prep your skin due to the matte finish this creates. But overall this is what you’d get if the Glossier stretch concealer had more coverage and a matte finish.
What does this look like on the face?
So the best way for me to test wear time of any concealer is on my under eye area. It can be a bit dry and crepey looking but I feel this concealer holds up wel. Yes it accentuates some fine lines I have going on, but that’s nothing that my finger cannot blend out. I feel that this looks fresh, awake and it is a spot on shade that isn’t too yellow nor too dark for me. It also doesn’t oxidize on me even with hours of wear time.
Should you buy the REM Beauty Sweetener concealer?
Sometimes surprises can be found everywhere. This product wasn’t on a wishlist, wasn’t something I wanted to get and if it hadn’t been for that makeup artist I would not have gotten this. But I am so glad I did. It has a fuller coverage than I normally go for, but this is great for those days where my under eye needs a bit more help and I need a shade that is spot on. This has that and just so much going for it and I love it for that reason. Highly recommend this product by REM Beauty if you haven’t given it a try yet.
