I don’t talk much about my haircare on here, but like everyone else: I use shampoo, conditioner and a bunch of haircare products. I just don’t use anything super interesting or anything that I feel really makes for an interesting review very often. This time I am, so let me tell you about Lush’ Curl Powder Hair Cream.

In case you need a bit of background: my hair is wavy rather than curly. So I don’t do a fully curly hair routine, but I do implement some of the steps to embrace the waves and have my hair live its best life. One of those things is to include a product that enhances the waves as much as possible and this product helps with that quite well.
Review: Lush Curl Power Hair Cream
At €15 for 95 grams I feel this is quite expensive. I have tried other curl creams from drugstore brands that I feel work just as well. So do you need this? Not per se, but it does get the job done. I like to use it on towel dry hair: after oil but before I put in anything to fix my waves into place. So I kind of use it like a leave-in conditioner which this can be used for as well.
What does this hair product do?

This is my second time buying this product. I first got it when it was released as part of a line specifically designed for curly hair. I think they were trying to tap into the Curly Hair trend.
Curl Power Hair Cream should nourish the hair to make hair look healthier and give more definition to you natural texture. This doesn’t promise to give you curls at all but I feel it makes my hair dry into it’s best textured life if I let my hair airdry. I don’t use any heat on my hair as it’s so dry so for me I need products that can give my hair that oomph without adding weight.
What does this product do for my hair?

First of all, I feel this is a very rich and creamy product that locks in moisture and helps my hair feel healthy longer without making it greasy or weighing it down. Using a curl cream I have found really makes a difference in how my hair looks, not just this one specifically but any one I have tried. Here are the ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Lijnzaadgel (Linum usitatissimum), Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerine, Cetrimonium Chloride, Ethyl Macadamiaat, Propyleen Glycol, Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), Parfum, Kokosazijn, Melasse, Behentrimonium Chloride, Squalaan, Bergamotolie (Citrus aurantium bergamia), Litsea Cubeba-olie, Olibanumolie (Boswellia carterii), Arganolie (Argania spinosa), Fair Trade Biologische Cacaoboter (Theobroma cacao), Extra Virgin Kokosolie (Cocos nucifera), Biologische Jojoba-olie (Simmondsia chinensis), Soya Lecithine, Gehydrolyseerd Tarwe-eiwit, Hydroxystearinezuur/Linoleenzuur/Oliezuur Polyglyceriden, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Amyl Cinnamal, *Benzyl Cinnamaat, *Cinnamal, *Cinnamyl Alcohol, *Citral, *Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool
My main reason for repurchasing this? The scent. Since this is a Lush product, you’ll know this product is scented like there is no tomorrow. So yes, this has perfume in, which I know isn’t necessarily the best for your hair and skin. However, I just find Lush haircare scents to be 1000% times better than their bodycare scents. I love their Candy Rain conditioner for that reason, and I love this product too as it smells like an orange sorbet smoothie. Yum!
Should you buy Lush Curl Power Hair Cream?
For a few years now I have been using Lush for a lot of my haircare routine and I feel my hair is living its best life. I love the way this makes my hair look and feel and I love the scents. However, I am thinking of switching to hairdresser brands in the future. I just had a lot of haircare products in backup which I felt I needed to use up first. This was part of that use up project.
So will this get a repurchase? Not any time soon. But I do like what this does for my hair for sure.
