Tower 28 Swipe concealer review

I love trying some clean beauty products from time to time and they are products that get a lot of hype in the online beauty community. One such product? The Tower 28 Swipe All-Over Serum concealer. So when I had a few bits to get from the website where I can buy the brand, I decided to throw it into the mix.

And I know I am throwing this in at the very end of the year, but that doesn’t mean I love this any less. I have been using this for the past few weeks as it has just been a stunning product to use. It is quite possibly the first truly hydrating concealer in a tube style that I have tried in a long time.

Review: Tower 28 Swipe All-Over Serum concealer 3.0 CC

At €25 a pop this isn’t a very cheap concealer. However, concealer can be much more expensive than that, so I don’t think this is super outrageous when it comes to the quality you pay for. The only downside? I can only buy this through Revolve and they can be a bit cumbersome to shop through. It would be great if these hyped up clean beauty brands could make it to some more retailers for EU customers.

What does this concealer have to offer?

At fave value, this concealer looks like any old concealer that you will have seen before. It has a doe foot applicator and it comes in 20 shades. What makes this special though is the formula: this is hydrating and feels like skincare, while not skirting on the coverage. This feels like the Rare Beauty Under Eye Brightener in terms of texture, but it has the coverage of the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin concealer. However, this is cheaper than both those options.

The promise on this is that is should easily cover up your dark circles, any redness you might have and blemishes. Due to the hydrating formula I would clock this more as a good concealer for dry skin rather than oily skin though. It feels skin like and looks flawless all day. It is silicone free, great for sensitive skin and it’s fragrance free. I bought shade 3.0 CC and if there is one thing I would have liked with this concealer is a better shade range.

What does this concealer swatch like?

You can see straight away how glowy this is on the skin. In the full on swatch this looks quite full on an yellow, but it blends out seamlessly and still has that glow. It doesn’t lose coverage and doesn’t oxidize or look cakey. Even after hours of wear this looks great with a bit of powder. It doesn’t look cakey and even on some parts of my skin that are more textured this looks great still.

The shade however is too yellow. I picked shade 3.0 CC as the lighter shade which should be more neutral looked to be too light. The downside of only finding things online. And depth wise this shade works for me. Undertone wise it does not as it too warm toned. Can I make it work? Sure, but this depth with a pink undertone would have been perfect for me.

What does this look like on the skin?

One of the reasons why I went with shade 3.0 CC is because I am no longer a fan of the super highlighted under eye look. For a more natural effect I like a concealer shade that is closer to my natural skin tone. Therefore I nowadays tend to go for something slightly deeper than I used to and I find that also means I get better coverage out of the concealer.

As you can see here, this concealer gets the job done. Above you can see my under eye without any product on, below you can see the concealer applied. There is a slight sheen and I would recommend using an eyeshadow primer under this if you easily experience creasing in your fine lines. I love how it covers my under eye area, but I can still use this on the rest of my face as well.

Should you buy the Tower 28 Swipe All-Over Serum concealer?

I really really like this one! This is certainly worth the hype and I am glad I got to try it in 2023. This is a stunning product and one I definitely would like to get back to. I still have some more concealers to try (as I just came into so many which I haven’t yet reviewed), but I just know that once I get through them I would love to go back to this to use it up.

The only negatives here are the slightly too warm undertone and the fact that I know Tower 28 products can expire quickly. The downside to clean beauty products is that they can expire easily as there are little to no preservaties. So I know I will have to get to this quickly once my little concealer trial is over in early 2024.

That said, this concealer is one that I really have fallen in love with this month and I have been reaching for it every single day since I started using this. Many other concealers I have tried pale in comparison to this and I love this for my skin type. So if you have dry skin this may be very worth giving a try.
