Sydney Grace Cream Blush, Bronzer & Highlighter review

New from Sydney Grace this summer: cream cheek products. Just in time for their Christmas in July sale they released cream blush, bronzer and highlight and they included a few of each in their mystery bag selection.

I got four mystery bags. It was buy 2 get 1 free and then the person who allowed me to tag onto her order included an extra one as well. I reviewed those products here when I got them in, but these new cream cheeks I knew had to get their own dedicated review. So here we go.

Review: Sydney Grace Cream Cheek products

According to the Sydney Grace website these products retail for $12 each. As I got these as part of mystery bags it was a lot cheaper for me and from what I can tell, none of the shades I have are for sale as singles. These shades were unique to the bags, but we can still chat about the formula.

What do these cream cheek products have to offer?

Sydney Grace cream cheeks (light): Bon Bon, All Is Bright, Strawberry Cheesecake

So one thing I love about Sydney Grace is that they do a lot of products for deep and light skin tones separately. I was gifted a deep bag and purchased 3 light ones myself. In the four bags I got 2 bronzers, 3 highlighters and 3 blushes. I wish I had another, lighter bronzer because both of the bronzer shades are too dark for me. They are also too warm toned.

Why I like this formula

The blushes and two of the highlighters work really well for me on the cheeks. Soak Up the Sun which is a golden highlighter from the deep bag is not my cup of tea but it is intense enough that I could use it as eyeshadow.

What I like about all of these is the formula: it is a very wet feeling, creamy formula that blends like a dream. A little goes a long way and these are best applied using fingers. I do use the bronzers with a brush but I still struggle to blend those on my face.

What do these cream cheek products swatch like?

Remember what I said about these being pigmented? Yup, these products are intense. Not just the deep bag also the lighter options are stunning. The formula feels very melty when you touch it and that’s what greatly helps the blendability.

Some of these may look a bit patchy in the swatch but that’s not how they apply. That patchiness is from how creamy these are so these a best applied with a light tapping motion to get a) the pigment and b) the best look possible.

What do these look like on the face?

Since there are quite a few products I had to try, there are a few images here to show you what these look like. Top left is my cheek without anything. Then there are three images that show off Bon Bon (bronzer), Sugar Cookie (highlighter) and My Better Half (blush).

I like all three but the bronzer is too warm and too dark and difficult to blend. Sugar Cookie is my favorite highlighter from the bunch. I like the blush too but it’s a bit warm toned for me to be reaching for it all the time.

At the bottom there are two more images which include All Is Bright (highlighter) and Strawberry Cream (blush). Both were also from a light bag and I like both. I prefer Sugar Cookie over All Is Bright as I find it is more impactful in real life. Strawberry Cream is my favorite blush out of the tree I tried.

But then we have a few more products. Featured in this collage are Brown Sugar (bronzer) and Strawberry Cheescake. While I can make both work I have to work a bit harder. I really like the look of Strawberry Cheesecake but it is a bit too intense for my fair skin. Same for the bronzer: it is far, far too dark for me.

Would I recommend the Sydney Grace cheek products?

If you want to try these I think they are very nice. However, Sydney Grace is not that affordable as they are a smaller indie brand and therefore ship by weight and they are US based, meaning it can get expensive if you are in Europe. That said, I have shopped with them several times and have never been disappointed and they have a great customer service as well.

Should you buy the Sydney Grace cream blush, bronzer & highlight?

I really enjoy all these products. Despite some of the shades not being the best for my skin tone, I do really enjoy the formula and I am glad I got to try a bit more. The ones staying in my collection for sure are Sugar Cookie and Strawberry Cream as I can see myself reaching for those the most.

Whether you find this type of purchase worth it totally depends on your situation. Some people find it no issue, while others may find it too expensive. So make the decision that fits your needs and budget. I would certainly recommend waiting for a sale or some more mystery bags as that is a great way to try a range of products from the brand.
