Kiko Milano Instamoisture Glow foundation review

What do you do when one of your favorite drugstore foundation comes out in a glowy version? You try it of course. I love the regular Instamoisture foundation, but this glowy version sounds promising. So let’s try it.

My love for the regular Instamoisture foundation is well documented. I really love it and it has been one of my favorites. Kiko can be difficult though for finding good base products.

Review: Kiko Milano Instamoisture Glow foundation 1R

At €17.99 this foundation is a little bit more expensive than the original version but then again many products have been going up in price. So there is no surprise there. This is available both online as well as in Kiko stores, so you can go out and swatch it if you like.

What does this foundation have to offer?

Compared to the original version, this is even more light weight and thinner than that. It has a thin, watery texture but still has plenty of coverage as well. As any Kiko foundation goes, this pulls quite yellow, even though the shade is called rose. 1 Rose is the lightest shade available out of a total of 13 shades.

What is the coverage like?

So this foundation has a light to medium buildable coverage. As you can see in the pictures here, my redness is covered up well and the finish is very natural. It’s glowy but not to the point where you looks greasy. It is very pretty and it lasts all day as well. There is only one downside to this: it oxidizes ever so slightly.

What is the shade match like?

The shade 1R is a good shade for me but it is a touch too yellow. To top things off this foundation oxidizes a little bit too. That means it changes color once applied to the skin. It does blend in beautifully and with the rest of my makeup done you really can’t tell this is a touch too dark. Though I wish Kiko would do a better, more inclusive shade range that goes deep enough and comes in multiple undertones. Not everyone is warm toned afterall.

Should you buy the Kiko Milano Instamoisture Glow foundation?

I think this is a stunning foundation that I can get a lot of use out of. I even like this a touch better than the original version as I just prefer that glowy finish a bit more. It looks pretty on the skin, blends in seamlessly and lasts all day. It’s not horribly expensive either and I am glad to see the brand doing another foundation I love.

This foundation is great if you have dry skin, but if you have oily skin you may not love this as it may be too glowy. It also doesn’t run super deep so if you have a deep skin tone this may not be great for you. I wish this was a bit more pink toned and it wouldn’t oxidize, then it would be perfect.
