Drunk Elephant F-Balm review

This isn’t the first Drunk Elephant product I tried and the ones I have tried have been a little hit and miss. Of the two products I have tried so far, I liked the La La Retro moisturizer best, but found it expensive for what it is. Do I feel the same way about the F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Hydrating Mask?

The reason why this appealed to me was because it sounds like a one stop shop that can do a lot. I love these types of products in the summer when I still want to take care of my skin, but doing too many steps just sits on my skin due to the warmer weather.

Skincare review: Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Hydrating Mask

As far as a Drunk Elephant products go the F-Balm Waterfacial is one of the less expensive products in the range. When you buy this at €54 a pop, you also get a sample of the cult favorite TLC Glycolic serum. At least mine did and I can find lots of promo pictures that show this duo product.

What does this have to offer?

Apart from a hefty price tag I was just curious to see what this would do. This promises to restore your skinbarrier by providing hydrating and restoring the skin overnight. It should help improve skin’s texture and combat unevenness of the skin.

This is the ingredient list:

Water/aqua/eau, Squalane, Propanediol, Niacinamide, Olive Oil Glycereth-8 Esters, Coconut Alkanes, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp Copolymer, Glycerin, Mannitol, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Butter, Sodium Pca, Opuntia Tuna Fruit Extract, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Sorbitol, Quercetin, Trehalose, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Sucrose, Creatine, Inositol, Pentylene Glycol, Ferulic Acid, Hydroxytyrosol, Behenic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Cholesterol, Ceramide Ns, Ceramide Ap, Ceramide Eos, Ceramide Np, Ceramide Eop, Phospholipids, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Magnesium Pca, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Adenosine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Caprooyl Phytosphingosine, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Caprooyl Sphingosine, Coco-caprylate/caprate, Ceteareth-25, Citric Acid, Glyceryl Caprylate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol, Chlorphenesin, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexylglycerin

There are few ingredients high up on the list that I know I love: squalane and niacinamice are some of my favorites. There are some good oils and rich butters that help with the skin as well, but there is also quite a few ingredients I don’t full understand.

How did this work for me?

I hate to break it to you, but I really enjoyed using this product. I did need quite a bit everynight for it to work but as I was using this, it was just this and a bit of eye cream every night. No extra serums or other product and I noticed my skin being well-hydrated and great feeling.

Again, like with the other Drunk Elephant products I tried I am not sure it is worth the price point. I think there are just as effective skincare products on the market that are cheaper than this, especially within K-beauty. That said, this is nice, the packaging is easy to use and I really enjoyed this.

At the moment I don’t think I will be repurchasing this though as I went through the product very quickly. In fact, I usually have some images of what the product looks like with my reviews, but I had already used this up before I could plan this review. So while nice, I feel the amount of product I use and how much it is, just doesn’t make it worth it.
