Today’s video is a different one. I saw a video by Hank Green on Tiktok the other day and the comment section went wild ‘correcting’ his pronunciation of a word. He’s a native speaker! And I have had this happening on my videos as well and I see it happening a lot on other people’s videos too. So as an English teacher, I thought I should explain why I feel you should not correct anyone’s English online, unless they ask you to.

So this video is a bit of a ranty one, but I am doing my makeup at the same time as well so I hope that can elevate the fun factor. A full list of product used is below the video. And the reason why I felt I have to say something: I have been an English teacher for over 15 years now and accents, pronunciation and the history of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ language is something I know a thing or two about. Let’s chat!
