Zeesea is a brand you may be familiar with from previous content I have created with the brand. I was sent some products to try in PR last year and I am slowly but surely making my way through the reviews. Today we are reviewing the Zeesea Palace Identity lipstick in a stunning red shade: Empress.
Zeesea as a brand is best known for their stunning, otherworldly packaging. Some may say it’s a bit kitsch, but I personally love a pretty compound and it doesn’t get more stunning than this. So this review is for all my fellow magpies.

The Zeesea price point is quite reasonable considering what you get with these lipsticks. Some of the products are a bit overpriced I find but the lipsticks are generally quite good. This is the matte formula which retails for $29. That isn’t much for a high end lipstick and this lipstick feels and looks high end for sure.
What does this lipstick have to offer?
So first up is of course the packaging. The box, the tube as well as the lipstick itself are stunning. This is a heavy lipstick: not one to travel with perhaps. I mean, this is almost too pretty to use. This formula promises to be matte but not drying: this should still feel hydrating and comfortable on the lips. It is longwearing and is available in 8 different shades.
How does this lipstick swatch?
One point I have to mention is that I feel the images on the website are not the best representation of the colors. This lipstick is just a bit more orange toned red than I had expected once I got it home. On the website it looks far more blue toned, so that is something I feel the brand can work on.
That said, this is a stunning matte formula. Smooth, creamy and comfortable this lasts a pretty long time but requires touching up after a bigger meal for sure. The color payoff is intense and you get a bold application in just one or two swipes. Combined with the pretty packaging this is a great lipstick to gift to someone (or yourself!)
Should you buy the Zeesea Palace Identity lipstick?
This lipstick has so much going for it. The formula is nice, the color payoff is insane AND the packaging is some of the best on the market today.
However, if I compare this to other reds I already have this doesn’t beat some of my more beloved formulas. Doesn’t mean it isn’t a good product, it just doesn’t beat my favorites. And I have and try a lot of lipstick, especially reds, so for me to be impressed takes perhaps a bit more than the average person.
I think this is a stunning product and especially if you were interested in trying the brand I think it is one of their more iconic pieces. I would only recommend buying this if there are a few other items on the website you are interested in. This can be worth it but because you’re likely to pay for shipping fees on top of the product, getting more than one thing may be the better purchasing decision.
