Who doesn’t love a dupe? I certainly do, but I feel that the concept of dupes has become misconstrued and we are now chasing something that just doesn’t exist.
Because there is certainly a darker side to dupes and today I am reflecting on why I think dupes are not necessarily a good thing.
So today’s video will kick off with discussing why dupes can be a good thing, then we’ll establish what I think counts as a dupe and then we’ll unpack why dupes are bad. We’ll go over copycat brands, killing innovation, why buying things on the cheap shouldn’t be a goal to chase.
