Just thought I’d pop in for a quick post today to let you all know that I’ve had some great news this week. Want to know what that is? Read on to find out!
First of all, I have been accepted to be part of the communication team at work. This is something I’ve been wanting to do since the day I started working here. At the end of last year’s school year, an e-mail was sent informing all employees of the two people leading the communication team leaving or quitting their activities. After some thinking I decided to give it a shot and I sent and email to my boss during the summer holidays asking to take part in the reformation of the communication team. I had my first meeting on Tuesday and after that it was certain that I would from now on, be part of the communication team. Hoozah!
Secondly, I started uni again and at the first class they asked for a volunteer to be a teaching assistant to the course. It’s an unpaid position, but it entitles you to an exemption from the group assignments of the course. I applied and I found out today that I have been chosen to be the teaching assistant. So hoozah again! It means I won’t have to do any group work, that I only have to take the exam and in the mean time I’ll be answering e-mails, questions and help to organize the course. This is something I can easily do while I’m at my desk at work as I am sitting there answering emails anyway.
So good stuff right? It’s stuff I enjoy doing and hopefully will look good on my CV as well! All I can say is that this is the best start to a new year of teaching and studying.
