I’ve been back home for a few days now, but I still can’t seem to fully pick up on my old routine. The result: I’m tired, feel totally out of the loop and disoriented.Yet, life goes on and I’m immediately sucked into this vortex called work. It’s fun, but busy too.

I don’t mean to complain, but the past couple of days haven’t been very good ones. I’ve only been away for 2 weeks, but it feels like a life time, and at the same time it feels as if I never even left. Students are still not showing up to class, colleagues are still talking about crazy work loads and friends & family are still doing what they always did. I feel like I’m the only one who’s taken a break for everything.
Mornings have been the worst. For some reason it’s taking me more time than usual to get ready and out the door. I really have to get back into the swing of things. So, I’ve decided that I’m just gonna take it easy. It’s only a few more weeks until the end of the year and I don’t want to stress out and get worked up about work or anything else. I’m just gonna take each day as is. And, if l feel tired, like today, I’m just gonna turn it down a notch.
I’m hoping this is just a matter of getting used to my regular routine again. I still have a few busy weeks ahead of me with finishing classes (both as a teacher and a student), taking and conducting exams, and some more grading. So it would be nice if things can go back to normal after this week.
